Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3) - Suzanne Collins It is almost impossible for me to even think about reviewing Mocking Jay without thinking of the first two books in the series. The stark differences between each of the books are almost dramatic with Mocking Jay being for me the darkest.

Impossible to read on its own this book is not for the faint at heart. The Capital and the games are exposed for what it truly is… savage and downright brutal. People are slaughtered, tortured and left for dead. The whole book is bittersweet with elements that make laugh, sign and cry. Mocking Jay concludes this heart wrenching series the way one is meant to be ended… Hope with a future gained but not without cost; the very real price of loss of life.
